Children are a precious gift from God, our future for the world. Our Christian Education team guides and supports the following ministries. Nurturing young families is a primary goal.

Children’s Ministries

Nursery

Sundays 8:15am-12:15pm

It is our goal to make members and visitors feel welcome and provide a safe place for our little friends. Beepers are available for all parents who leave an infant or toddler in our nursery.

Children’s Day Out

A program for young children to get out of the house and play with others in a safe, loving place. Read more ->

Education

Covenant offers Sunday morning (Treasure Finders) and Wednesday evening (Power Play) educational programs for children as well as Vacation Bible School and other programs. See the Education page for more.

Power Play

Wednesdays, 6-7:30pm

For preschool and elementary-aged children. Through puppetry (designing, creating, and using puppets), costumes (designing, creating, and wearing), creative play (entering into the story and bringing it to life), props (making use of all sorts of things), scripting (writing and directing), set building (making simple pieces for stage use), and a whole lot of imagination, we will actively engage in Bible stories and help to understand them in a whole new way! We will share our dramatic accomplishments with the rest of the church by presenting them during a special worship service. See Events page for dates and updates.

Treasure Finders

Sundays, 9:45-10:45am

Children from 3 years old through sixth grade learn, celebrate, and share in God’ love. A curriculum called “The Way of the Child: Helping Children Experience God ” will help children learn ways to nurture the treasure of the Holy Spirit within us. See Events page for updates.

Girls’ Friday

Girls in fifth and sixth grades meet one Friday a month for dinner, conversation, crafts, and fun.

Tutoring Program

This program provides tutoring opportunities for children at several locations. Covenant members and community volunteers offer their time as tutors. Contact: Carol Petro.

Covenant Preschool

Offers classes (September-May) for 3-year-olds (Tuesday and Thursday, 9am-11:30am) and 4-year-olds (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9am-11:30am). Read more ->
