Early Experiences Last a Lifetimepreschool

We’re proud to be a Step Up to Quality Center that meets the quality benchmarks of the State of Ohio.

  • Our program prepares children to be successful in school and in life.
  • We have fewer children per classroom.
  • Our teachers have more education and training.
  • We exceed Ohio’s standards in health and safety.

Covenant Preschool offers classes (September-May) for 3-year-olds (Tuesday and Thursday, 9am-11:30am) and 4-year-olds (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9am-11:30am).

Enrichment Classes

The enrichment program is an optional extra day of school for children who would like more science, math, and alphabet activities in a smaller group setting. The 3-year-old enrichment class meets on Friday, and the 4-year-old enrichment meets on Tuesday.

Class Size

At Covenant, we feel it is important to keep student/teacher ratios low to better meet the needs of individual children. Our ratios are 1:8/9 for 3-year-olds and 1:9/10 for 4-year-olds, well below state requirements. In the Enrichment classes, the ratio is 1:6, allowing more flexibility in the program.

Visitation

Parents are welcome to visit the preschool at any time. We have one-way glass in all our doors for your convenient observation. We hope you will use it. You and your child are welcome to observe a class prior to registering for Covenant Preschool.

Communication

Each month, your child will bring home a newsletter with information about what we will be doing at preschool that month and news of upcoming events. We also post a copy of the newsletter on the bulletin board outside the classrooms.

Tuition (2007-2008 school year)

Monthly tuition is $100 for the 3-year-old class, $125 for the 4-year-old class, $40 for the 3s Enrichment class, and $40 for the 4s Enrichment class. The registration fee is $50 per family.

Philosophy

children playing

Established in 1957, Covenant Preschool is a child-centered program that strives to foster social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical development through a variety of learning activities. Through a safe, warm, and nurturing environment, each child can develop a feeling a confidence and self-esteem, which will lead to initiative and independence.

Children at Covenant Preschool learn respect for themselves and for others as they learn how to become part of a group, to share, and to take turns.

Children are given opportunities for imaginative play and for creative expression in music, art, movement, and dramatic activities. These activities help to develop children’s ability to communicate clearly and effectively both with classmates and adults. Children are exposed to a wide variety of children's literature, and are encouraged to develop problem-solving abilities.

Covenant Preschool tries to create a partnership between home and school based on mutual respect and close communication. We use the “Creative” Curriculum and closely align our program to Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards to adequately prepare our preschoolers for kindergarten. We look forward to having your child in our program.
