OUR MUSIC PROGRAMS

Come Sing With Us!
There is only one requirement to join our Chancel Choir: you must love worshipping with your voice. We meet every Thursday at 7 PM, and sing anthems from classical to gospel, and everything in between. We have amateurs and professionals - all are welcome!
The Campanile Handbell Choir performs once a month in our worship services under the direction of Mrs. Nancy Davidson. We meet Tuesday evenings from 6:45-7:30pm in the Sanctuary. We also have a select smaller ensemble, the Covenant Handbell Ensemble, that rehearses from 6:00-6:45pm and performs a wider variety of works and more often.
Would you like to try to ring? We have some bells for YOU! Drop into a rehearsal or write us for more information.

CONGRATS MATTHEW!

Sending a HUGE Congratulations to Matthew Lederer, who is the recipient of the 2026 Jean A. Mortland Scholarship. Matthew is entering his junior year at the University of Kentucky, where he is pursuing dual degrees in Cello Performance & Psychology. Matthew hopes to use his education to help others through a future career in forensic psychology while continuing to share the gift of music with his community.

Established in 2007 to honor her love of music, education, and faith, the Jean A. Mortland scholarship is awarded annually to support an individual pursuing degrees in music or theology who shows vocational excellence. Funded by her bequest and donations.

"The Plowshare Prayer"

We love to collaborate with local musicians whenever we can and are blessed with many musical members at Covenant. This piece highlights Covenant members Pei-An Chao on cello, Allie Garner on vocal solo, guest Andrew Garner on acoustic guitar, Covenant Assistant Director of Music, Katie Wynkoop on piano, and local actor and singer Brian Gray on solo harmony. The Covenant Chancel choir sings under the direction of Cherie Brooks, Covenant Director of Music.

The piece, "Plowshare Prayer," is an earnest prayer from the heart of singer-songwriter, Spencer LaJoye.  Arranged by local musician, Nate Terry, Music Director from Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Columbus, Ohio, this choral rendition of "Plowshare Prayer" was commissioned by Indianola Presbyterian Church and debuted by their choir.

This recording is from the Covenant Maundy Thursday service in 2023.
This is what we mean when we say music IS worship...
